Jodie Hawk is a make up artist in the Baltimore–DC metropolitan area. Her style of beauty make up is equal parts Face Artistry and Relationship.
I had a trial run with Jenn, a soon to be June bride from Horizon Church. Jenn is another young, attractive makeup minimalist.
So many of my brides tell me horror stories of encounters with makeup artists who don't listen to what they want and when they are finished, it isn't an “I Feel Pretty” moment. Instead it is an, “I don't know who I am” moment.
Thursday, April 22nd was "Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day". Since my youngest child is 24 now, I have “run out” of children to bring, so I have moved on to bringing my granddaughters.
My two oldest granddaughters, Kaitlin and Caroline have wonderful memories of their workday experiences at the Lancôme counter. My third granddaughter, Lindsay has been waiting with great anticipation, to meet the minimum age requirement of the program and since she turned 8 in November, it was finally her turn!
After several attempts at finding a date for a trial run, we finally got together at the groom, Aaron's house after church one Sunday. Anna told me that she rarely wears make up and wanted a natural look. She was pleased with the look that I created for her so now we were ready for the big day.
Katherine (center in the photo) is a member of our Lancôme sisterhood. She enclosed both of the pictures that appear in this posting in a beautiful card with a scene from Maine, since it is a place that we both love to visit.
She is one of the beautiful women who visit our counter to enjoy “Cosmetic Therapy: conversation, laughter, make up and skincare. She is one of the women who come not only for the cosmetics, but for the relationship. She is in fact the very woman who coined the phrase, “sisterhood” to describe our clients who have become like family to us!
