My First Bridal Showcase

On Sunday, April 14, in preparation for my new life, I participated in my first Bridal Showcase.

“2013 Styled at the Grand – IMPRESSION”.

The event was held at the Grand Historic Venue of the Tremont Suites Hotel in Baltimore MD.

Months in advance, The Designer Showrooms were reserved, by Designer/Planners. A variety of rooms are available for events there, all with various and of course beautiful décor. There are 5 small rooms, 4 medium rooms and 2 large rooms, in which various numbers of vendors, who were brought in by invitation, rented their space to exhibit.

The Designer/Planner who invited me to participate is a make up client and friend, she is a partner at My Flower Box Events. The room reserved by My Flower Box, was a medium room, the “Oriental”; a beautiful, ornate room. The theme that they chose for the room was, “Masquerade Ball”. You can just imagine the sort of masquerade ball that Marie Antoinette or the Tudors would have attended! I am so grateful that my “Flower Box” friends, reserved the sweetest little space for me. It is listed as the “ante room”. It was the perfect place to exhibit my make up and make up services. The room was draped from the ceiling with sheer, colorful fabric that brought to mind the tents, that European kings used “in days of old” when they traveled. There was also a beautiful candelabra and of course, beautiful flowers! Everyone entering the Oriental Room passed through the little “tent”.

The vendors exhibiting in the room with me:

The show provided exposure to couples; working with various Media Partners, such as Wedding 411, Premier Brides and Perfect Wedding Guide. 500 guests were expected. I don't know how many attended, but I do know that My Flower Box Events gave 100 bags away, with marketing materials from their vendors inside, and we, the vendors who participated, are now on the Tremont's preferred vendor list for the rest of 2013!

Before the brides and grooms/bridesmaids/mothers, etc., started to make their way up to us on the fourth floor, we (I brought my friend Helene to help!) did touch up make up on vendors, from our room and from other rooms. It was really interesting to meet others involved in the bridal business. I even ran into a vendor named Chris, who is a childhood friend of one of my sons.  I am delighted to have reconnected with him so many years later. He is obviously a man of integrity, who is dedicated to his profession, as he has been named Baltimore's Best Tailor, two years in a row!

Now that the event is behind me, I have vendors and brides to contact and the feedback heard from several fellow vendors is that our room was the favorite, because it was so original!

I am so proud to be part of the team of vendors participating with My Flower Box Events! --Jodie
