Thursday, April 22nd was "Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day". Since my youngest child is 24 now, I have “run out” of children to bring, so I have moved on to bringing my granddaughters.

My two oldest granddaughters, Kaitlin and Caroline have wonderful memories of their workday experiences at the Lancôme counter.  My third granddaughter, Lindsay has been waiting with great anticipation, to meet the minimum age requirement of the program and since she turned 8 in November, it was finally her turn!

Lindsay had a great time!

Since she is left handed (like her Grammy and Mom) and a budding artist, makeup artistry came naturally to her. She enjoyed spending time with my “fun friends” at work, checking out the accessories. She also spent time trying out her makeup techniques and helping us with the clients.

Fragrance “sniffing” was high on her list. She even tried identifying the notes.

We toured the store from top to bottom, meeting the executives, visiting the Children's Department, Gift Gallery, Women's Shoes, Alterations, Galleria Dresses, Handbags, The Hermes and Chanel Boutiques, Precious Jewelry, Designer Jewelry, of course Cosmetics, Loss Prevention and Shipping and Receiving.  Then we went to visit Human Resources and talk with the Public Relations manager, whose job Lindsay decided that she wanted if it was planning parties!

On our way through Men's Furnishings, we passed the displays of beautiful ties.  Lindsay told me about a TV show that involved someone taking a trip to Thailand, who packed lots of ties in the suitcase, because they thought that is what you wore there.  When I walk by now, I will always think of Men's Furnishings as "Tie-Land".

We ended the day with shopping bags and great memories!
